The field of Performing Arts Medicine sparked Dr. Yang’s interest in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) as a specialty. She found it an ideal way to bring together her fascination with the neurologic and musculoskeletal systems with her love for the performing arts.  Her clinical interests include ergonomic and postural assessment, injury prevention, and repetitive strain injuries. Dr. Yang is board certified in PM&R and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.

Dr. Yang started playing the piano at 5 years of age, and has tried multiple other instruments since then with varying degrees of success. She currently keeps herself musically busy by singing in a local choir. Despite having two left feet herself, as a physiatrist she appreciates the athleticism and artistry involved in all forms of dance. She has presented at the Performing Arts Medicine Association International Symposium and co-authored the clinical topic on Performing Arts Medicine for the American Academy of PM&R’s Knowledge Now online resource.
