Kris Chesky, PhD, is a Professor on the faculty of the College of Music, University of North Texas.  As co-founder of the Texas Center for Music in Medicine, Dr. Chesky directed the Health Promotion in Schools of Music project in 2004 that eventually led to new health and safety standards for all NASM accredited schools of music across the US.   Dr. Chesky is an award winning educator and researcher.  The National Institutes of Occupational Health bestowed the coveted Safe-in-Sound Award in 2010 for his efforts to prevent hearing loss among musicians.
